Scope of Fabrication in Reactors
Clients typically arrive with one of two things: A detailed process datasheet or a process requirement that needs engineering input before a configuration can be confirmed. Both are standard starting points. Our engineering team works from either.
1. Jacketed Reactors
Full outer jacket with inlet and outlet nozzles for the circulation of heat-transfer media. Suitable for processes requiring uniform temperature distribution across the vessel shell. Designed for steam, hot water, thermic fluid, or chilled water service.
2. Limpet Coil Reactors
Half-pipe coils are continuously welded to the outer shell. Selected where partial heat transfer coverage is sufficient or where full jacketing is structurally or economically unnecessary. Compatible with steam, brine, and hot water circuits.
3. Internal Coil Reactors
Helical or hairpin coils are positioned inside the vessel, in direct contact with the process fluid. Specified for temperature-sensitive reactions where response time and heat transfer precision are critical process parameters.
4. Dimple Jacketed Reactors
Dimpled-plate jacket construction welded to the vessel shell. Provides a larger effective heat transfer area at lower vessel wall thickness compared to conventional full jackets. Preferred for high-pressure jacket service and weight-sensitive installations.
5. Skid-Mounted Reactors
Reactor assembly pre-mounted on a structural steel skid, complete with interconnecting pipework, instrumentation tappings, and support framework. Reduces site civil work, compresses commissioning timelines, and allows factory acceptance testing before dispatch.
6. cGMP Reactors
Fabricated to Current Good Manufacturing Practice standards for regulated pharmaceutical environments. Internal surfaces are electropolished or mechanically polished to Ra 0.4–0.8 µm. Nozzle configurations are zero dead-leg design. All materials are supplied with Mill Test Certificates, and documentation packages are structured to support IQ/OQ validation protocols.
7. Open Reactors
Open-top vessels for batch processes where closed containment is not a process or safety requirement. Applied in dye manufacturing, intermediates processing, and food-grade mixing operations.
8. Chemical Reactors
Configured for controlled exothermic or endothermic reactions. Design parameters cover operating pressure, temperature range, agitator type and speed, and heat transfer method specified per process.
9. Stainless Steel Reactors
Fabricated in SS 304 or SS 316L, depending on process fluid corrosivity and hygiene requirements. Suitable for pharmaceutical, food-grade, and specialty chemical services where corrosion resistance and surface finish are process-critical.
10. Mild Steel Reactors
Carbon steel construction for non-corrosive process service. Available with internal lining options where partial corrosion resistance is required. Economical for large-volume, low-specification process applications.
