100-Liter Sand Mill
Compact Sand Mill for small-batch grinding using fine grinding media at high shear. Ideal for R&D labs and pilot-scale trials needing precise particle control. Delivers fine, uniform dispersion with quick changeover and low power draw.
200-Liter Sand Mill
Mid-capacity Sand Mill for scaling production without losing grind fineness. Handles higher viscosity and pigment loads than the 100L unit while holding a tight particle-size distribution. Suited for regular production runs.
500-Liter Sand Mill
High-output Sand Mill for full-scale continuous operations. Larger grinding chamber and media volume support sustained batches with consistent fineness. Reinforced build and higher-capacity drive handle demanding dispersion loads.
1000-Liter Sand Mill
Heavy-duty Sand Mill for large-scale manufacturing needing maximum throughput. Robust frame and high-torque drive built for round-the-clock operation. Maintains fine, uniform dispersion at scale with low maintenance downtime.
Mostly units that run many colors or formulations in a week. You grind one lot, check it, and discharge it, so there is no cross-contamination worry and no long line to flush.
It varies with the product. A simple primer may be done in 30 to 45 minutes, while a high-gloss paint or fine ink can run a few hours. Your first trial batch will give you a time you can repeat.
Most shops use a Hegman gauge on the shop floor, and some also send samples for particle size analysis. Take a sample every 20 to 30 minutes and stop when the reading hits your target.
For paints and inks, zirconium silicate or zirconia beads are the usual pick. Smaller beads give a finer grind but flow more slowly, so match the size to your target. Fill about 70 to 80 percent of the chamber unless your product needs something else.
Run a compatible solvent or water through the chamber, drain it, and repeat until it runs clear. For light-to-dark color changes, you can often skip the deep clean, but go from dark to light only after a full wash.
